Come see our wide collection of 44 model ships made of rosewood, displayed in a refurbished old stable inside the buildings of the château’s stud farm. You will find a few must-sees, such as the Titanic, the Charles de Gaulle, Christopher Columbus’ Santa Maria, the Belem, the Pen Duick, the Hermione, and many more!
The model ships are entirely handmade in a workshop in Antananarivo on the island of Madagascar (https://www.maquettesdebateaux.com). Their achievement represents thousands of hours of painstaking work over two years. They are designed based on the original plans, usually obtained from maritime museums. Each model ship is unique and numbered.
You will discover several broad categories of ships: explorers’ ships, warships, privateers, merchant vessels, regatta boats.
